Synopsis

Emmadel (Jane Wyman) is about to marry her erstwhile boss, milionaire Wilbur Stanley II (Alexis Smith), when her lifelong sweetheart newsman Pete (Bing Crosby), comes back to the US from Italy with two little waifs he adopted there. In trying to get home for the kids, Pete manages to get himself set up in the caretaker's cottage on the Stanley estatr just before Em's wedding is to take place. Pete talks Em into giving up the idea of marrying Wilbur. Can she resist the charms of the journalist and the orphans?
