Synopsis

Harriet Blossom (Shirley MacLaine) has a secret: there's a man living in the attic. Robert (Sir Richard Attenborough), her husband, doesn't know.But Ambrose (James Booth), the visitior, has found the perfect life. He has time to study, to read, to sketch -- and a willing companion downstairs when he is lonely. Robert's pet Basset Hound discovers Ambrose and idyll ends. Robert gets a divorce, giving his bra manufacturing business to Harriet and Ambrose, who soon are wed. As Ambrose leaves for the factory, Harriet taps on the living room wall and up from the basement, champagne in hand, comes Robert.
